February is the month associated with love. Often, people are so busy looking for someone to love that we may forget about the one person we need to love first – ourselves.

Everyone has hurts, emotional pain and shortcomings. Rather than focusing on those, learn to accept yourself as you are. Try not to be so hard on yourself, instead, focus on your many positive qualities. Think of all your strengths, abilities and traits and try daily loving and positive affirmations. Nourish your soul through a love-kindness meditation or spiritual practices that help you feel compassion and love toward yourself.

Here are a few oils to help you love yourself first before looking for the love of your life.

Be Gentle with Yourself.
Diffuse or apply Acceptance essential oil blend to support calm and balanced emotions. Acceptance gently helps us to accept challenges so we can move forward rather than meeting them with resistance, anger or resentment. Those who are prone to procrastinate or are in denial will benefit from this oil as well.

Give Yourself a Break
Be willing to embrace yourself and excuse your bad days. Breathe in Geranium essential oil to bring a sense of calm if you are feeling anxious. Geranium will help support feelings of peace. It blends perfectly with Bergamot & Lavender. I like to wear Geranium oil as a natural perfume especially if I am going to a stressful meeting. The aroma is wonderful, it keeps me relaxed, and the issues always get resolved quickly and peacefully! My favorite blends that contain Geranium are Envision and White Angelica, the oil of Angels!

Be Grateful
Bergamot –This oil is the embodiment of self-love and self-worth. This oil helps process and release the fear of not being good enough, and opens you up to love and self-acceptance. Bergamot teaches and supports acceptance of your uniqueness, self-approval, joy, and resulting self-confidence. The whole world could use a few drops of Bergamot!
The process of Loving Yourself begins with understanding your true nature. Practicing intentional self-care keeps you balanced and healthy, essential for long term wellness. When you are being kind, considerate, compassionate, and giving of yourself, you have reached the highest level of self-love.
